Hey guys, read almost all of your views. To be honest, I may not be as much aware as you guys of the current situation in Nepal. I am a supporter of the author of this article and have similar views as him. I am a UK graduate, studying Masters in a UK university right now. To be fair, I was here since my school days with my parents and did not have to go through a lot hassle that most people go through when moving abroad. Even this luxury could not stop me from wanting to go back to Nepal. I have no answer when someone asks me why I do not wanna stay back, or may be I don't wanna answer it.

I think I got too much out of topic. Coming back, I am a supporter of Sulav's view however where I differ is that, I think coming back to Nepal and looking for a job is going to solve nothing. That's just one person sorted. If I may ask a question Sulav, I would like to ask, had you got the job in NTC, would you be happy today to see so many other Nepali youths staying back in US? At least, I wouldn't. My view is that people like us needs to create the platform so that more people like us can start thinking about coming back. Its a slow process and will take time. We also need to think about stopping more people from making the same mistake.

I know what question came up in your mind. HOW? right? One thing that we have access to and other people in Nepal do not is the knowledge of business and how its run abroad. I am into Computing and I must say its a very fluid job. I hope to get some UK projects but use our Nepalese engineers from Nepal to do the work and implement it back in UK. This will create job opportunities Nepal for people like us and preserves the dream of not just one person but many.

I am open to any kind of suggestion, comment, criticism or even swearing if you feel like it (I know it is going to be censored).

I have found some critical irresponsible advertisement tonight in indian television STAR PLUS. The advertisement is about the famous reality show star voice of india. I have found really terrifying act on that Ad. If you can trap that Ad. then you can be in great shock. The Ad. show the map of india in transparent way where they clearly made the whole territory of Nepal inside the map of India. The Ad. is about star voice of india final 12 contestants where they say that they found 12 contestants from different states where the of India is clearly shown including Nepal into it.
This is the great matter of same that we, the Nepalese are being abused by India day after day. The is not small, it hits the glory of Nepal, its pride & status as independent Country. The responsible media like that of yours should really look after this matter and ask for that blunder. We have only one day to trap that Ad. as the very next day(Friday) that advertisement will be not in act as next episode of that show will starts friday 10'o clock. I, therefore request yours channel to trap out that ridiculous Ad. and fight for our independence. Let it not happen again. The Indian Channels are abusing us more often please help us to save our Pride as Nepal and Nepalese.

well I'm going to Nepal in 2010 in the month of January or February for one month although I wasn't born there(i was born in Delhi) because my mom and dad came to Delhi when they were just teenager about 16 or 17 I wonder if Nepal would be a great country like UK or America or Japan well I just wonder how when will this happen? It looks like a dream but imagine how would Nepal look after about 50 years I think it will completely transform into a modern city

It has become difficult to even finish your education here in the US. I know more than 10 people myself who have droped out of college just because they were not able to pay their fees. You might wonder what do they do after that, well they surly can't go back because they in the first place don't have a complete education and well they have to pay their bills. So they just get low level job, work 24/7 try to make ends meet. And of course they become out of status!!
I have been here for two years now, I was going to college in KTM before I came here. My credits got transfered so I was really lucky, coz I saved a lot of money. I really don't see the point of coming here just for the shake of coming. People just think they can manage once they get here. What they don't understand is, life here is not as easy as people make it sound. There are days, I am telling you days.. not just hours when you don't get to eat, just coz you had a high bill to pay this week and your next pay check is a week away!!
If people some how manage to finish their education, they surly want to get the share of their hard work. They surly want to make money here in the US because no matter what anyone says they surly will make more money here than they would make there in Nepal. Ya, I know even the expense would be high here, but it worth it.
I surly would want to go back, but I am not ashamed to say that first I would like to work here for couple of years, make some money.
In Nepal everything is so difficult to organize, everything seems like it is in a big mess. I know everyone says that but who will make the difference right?? Saying we should all work together and make a difference is an easy thing to say. When you come to think of it, what is it that all of us say this " the thing to do?" I wonder if there really is a so called " thing" that we could do to make some difference.
I had read the article that you have posted here when it was published in the site of ekantipur.com , it surly had made me thing more than twice, just come to think of it, how pathetic is it? He come all the way from the US thinking he would do something, and well the system is just so broken, not much can be done one time.
I have been in and out of Nepal almost all my life, maybe it is because of that reason I love my country even more. I try to understand what is going on politically, although I hardly understand politics!! I make sure to read news, find all kind of updates and make sure to let my friends know what is going on.
Couple of month ago some of my freinds decided to open a club to help chindren in Nepal. Everyone got excited and they decided on so many stuff but what no one realized was, we didn;t really have a particulay mission in wich we could serve. we had decided to raise some money and send it to Nepal so that it could be used for something good. But even within my freind circle no one was funny sure that the money would now be mishandeled!
That really got me thinking, if we can't trust our own friends with our money, how can we start a step to actually make a difference for our country.
By now I feel like something really good and great should happen to make this big huge start for our country. I just want to let everyone know , we the international students of Nepal are always ready to do something and help our coutry. We are ready to come back and work there, but frankly speaking we are just scared! We are scared about the fact that we wont get our education's worth; we are scared that we will be used by others and we are scared that our money would be used up!

Article is good. most nepalese ko tehi ho sabailai farkana man chha. but they r scared as if they don get good opportunty there in nepal when they return.

But this writer shouldn't write Pulchowk engineering college.that should be institute of engineering pulchowk campus. there is no name such Pulchowk engineering college (PEC) so the readers gethard time to trust him.

Will he read and know before he writes. Next thing he didnt write nothing about his background and about his study in us that could be influential to the reader. He didnt write nothing like the lucrative ideas
even in the field of engineering that could be implemented in nepal so that people could have a rough idea about returning to nepal and working there.
what if a compuational physics and modelling phd candidate returns and work where?this is just an example. There are whole lot of things.

If he was a student in electrical engineering and communications he should have written the prospect of electrical engineering there what he learnt here in United States.

He just gave the general rough idea what normal patriotic engineer thinks about Nepal.

I am an engineer and I 'll return to
Nepal after 4-5 years as I have worked in Nepal after my degree there and know what to do there. But what about undergraduates here in US. Do they know the booming field of NEpal and how to work out. He should attract all
those people.

He has to attract whole lot of people from different field of study.

Anyway i really appreciate MR sulav for writing such a good article but fissy in influential purpose so that people
can think about it here. So will you do some research even in ur field and attract whole bunch of at least nepali electrical
engineers from all over the world that could work in an innovative field.

Yes, Indians going back as they have booming
software jobs back there. hey Mind it Even wipro, Infosys was initially initiated by a group of people with very little fund.

So is there any possiblity of using hydropower energy and selling it to neighbours and maintaining required level of energy of the country.

mAy be such things can cut off lpg gasand kerosene totally and some part of petroleum dependency. If U can do that u might be the pioneer of converting the lot of NRNs to original Nepali.

Anyway that was just an example.

The first question I would like as the writer is, "WHO IS GOING TO CHANGE THE CURRENT SITUATION?". Will it be the corrupted politicians, the youngsters who hurls to destroy our nation listening them, or people like us, who gets frustrated as soon as they step into Nepal. I was also in one of the same situation. When I went back a year ago, I was so much frustrated due to all the corruption, bureaucracy and the situation, that I decided to go abroad again. Even people who try to change these conditions, tend to get alienated.
I think the what we need to change is, the thinking of the whole youngsters, and uproot those politicians. Its unimaginable to think that a 80 year old is running already crippled country.
This is just my 2 cents.
