Will Prashant Tamang be Indian Idol?
अन्तत प्रशान्त इण्डियन आइडलको फाइनलमा पुगेरै छाडे । सबै नेपालीको चासोको विषय बनेका प्रशान्तको समर्थनमा सहयोग जुटाउनेको भिड दार्जीलिङ या सिक्किम या देहेरादुनमा मात्र होइन, नेपालमा पनि उत्तिकै छ । जहाँसुकै गए पनि सबैको मुखमा एउटै प्रक्ष्न छ “के उनी उपाधि जित्न सफल होलान् त ???”
उनको भिडन्त आसामका अमित पौलसँग हुँदैछ जो गायकिमा प्रशान्त भन्दा अब्बल मानिन्छन् । सेप्टेम्बर २३ को साँझ सोनी च्यानलबाट प्रत्यक्ष प्रशारण हुने फाइनलमा यदि प्रशान्तले जिते भने उनले १ करोड भारतिय रुपैयाँ बराबरको Contract र एल्बम निकाल्ने मौकाको साथसाथै एउटा कार पनि पाउने छन् । विना कुनै तालीम लिएका प्रशान्तले आफ्नो गायकीले सबैलाई मोहनी लगाएका छन् । पहिला खाली दार्जीलिङले भोट गरेर उनलाई यो स्थितिमा ल्याएको आरोप लागे पनि अहिले उनले आफ्नो गायकीमा उल्लेख्य सुधार गरेका छन् । उत्कृष्ट २ मा छनौट हुनको लागि उनले गाएका “मडर” फिल्मको “भिगे होठ तेरे” सुनेर सबै दँग परेका थिए ।
प्रशान्तलाई भोट गनेहरुको संख्या अत्यन्तै छ । उनको पक्षमा सारा दार्जीलिङ, सिक्किम जस्ता नेपाली मुलका मानिसहरु लागिपरेका छन् । नेपालमात्र होइन विदेशबाट पनि उनको पक्षमा SMS गर्नको लागि सहयोग रकम प्रसस्त मात्रामा जुट्दैछ । तर उनलार्ई भोट गनेहरु थुप्रै छँदैछन नि भनेर बसेमा उनले त्यो मौका गुमाउन सक्नेछन् । Britain, कतार, Singapur, UAE मा बस्ने नेपालीहरुले उनलाई भोट गन सक्छन् । त्यसैले आउनुस् हामी सबै मिलेर प्रशान्तलार्ई इन्डियन आइडल बनाउन सहयोग गरौँ ।
How can Nepali be an Indian idol ? He is Indian not Nepali. He is singing Hindi songs not NEPALI SONGS.

Of course “YES” he has to become an Indian Idol,it doesn’t matter if he sang Hindi or Nepali songs.Songs are songs,whoevr knows the true meaning of musics would never judge,in such a way. So lets vote for Prashant Tamang and be his well wishers,inspite of being nagative about him.

it will be a proud moment for all nepalese people if prashant becomes an indian idol. we must appreciate the fact that he is fighting a battle for all of us when he has to work really hard to prove himself in front of judges who rarely praise him whole heartedly. he also has to withstand english speaking snobbish crowd. and finally for a guy to rise from the ranks of a sepoy to that of indian idol, it’s certainly a story that dreams are made of. lets wish him the very best.

He is not only indian but also nepalese coz of blood relationship and originity. Most of the people who residing nearby border area, they have dual citizenship and passport. Everybody knows it. Maybe it is impossible in western countries but in Asia,many people deserve multi national identity. If they are on the land of India, they say indians and if they on the land of Nepal, they say nepalese coz they have enough legal proofs.Indegeneous community like tamang and tamang language is mostly accepted provincial language of India and national language of Nepal. Prashant’s forefathers and others nepalese residing in Darjeeling is 100% nepalese in the sense that province belonged to Nepal before but unfortunately went to Indian side due to political crisis. Hence, we can not deny that Prashant Tamang is Nepali. He is a great son of Nepal, the product of Nepal. His mother tongue is Nepali. Still in his family, everybody speak nepalese.We can see his performance on the stage that he can not speak hindi properly coz hindi is not his motherlanguage. In many eposodes of Indian idol he use to tell that he is “Nepali Banda”meaning “Nepali Thito”. While asking by one of the judge, he replied that he speaks nepali langauge at home, all the viewers know the reality.
So, why not support him by heart. Whether we can vote/sms or not, we can show our gratitude at the moment instead. If he win the title then all the Nepalese community which is mostly supressed in india may get chance to make their status up.
So many green card/permanent residency holder non-residential nepalese around the globe they know the fact how difficult the scenario by converting the nationality. Even though I am in Malaysia I have proud to be a Nepali. Staying in Malaysia doesn’t mean I am not Nepali. Only by changing the legal status can not erase the inner theme, code of conduct of the human being. The previous culture and language is vital all the time. We can not erase the dignity of being a Nepalese. Even though we marry to the foreign people, we can not change the genetic in the blood. It is an instinct and originity that leads a life and becomes habitual. So many sentiments are active behind the scene. We can not tolerate. It happens automatically.
Prashant Tamang also a chaos in the history of Nepalese platform. He did lots of struggle just to convert him from policeguard to a singer.This is a good lesson for all Nepalese. Now we are watching Nepalese at Indian Idol, maybe in future, we can see a Nepalese in American Idol too, who knows? In America also, a Nepalese writer known as Samrat Upadhyaya had already shown his talent to American people by writing excellent books.
I request all people to support Prashant Tamang whether he is indian or nepali in the sake of his identity as Nepalese.

But wherever i go i’m proud of my nepali culture and heritage and i identify myself with that.So what if Prashant is an Indian citizen?Does that make him any less Nepali. You cannot take his roots away from him. The least we can do is feel proud that yes we can make it if we believe in ourselves, however small we maybe. And especially to be accepted and recognized in a country as vast and diverse as India, it’s certainly an achievement. India is not grudging him on the basis of his race, why do you grudge him, just because he lives on the other side of the border??????? BE A LITTLE LARGE HEARTED FOLKS!!!!!!

I too support him..The evening of 23 sept. is going to cheer his luck or say check his luck that how luckiest person he was borned out to be..Nepal ko name newspaper megazine or News bulletins ma thorai katai tira bhaye pani pakkai aaula ki ?..No matter whether it’s about participating in an indian title race(so called Indian Idol) or any ..Nepali heart is challenging millions of ppl this time.Common ppl, don’t forget that it was a free open challenge competition..We shud be glad and thankful to him cuz he is on that stage of life where your one vote cud rock the nations pride and brings mutual co-relationship & harmony between different classes of ppl.Nepali ma youta ukhan cha-”Nachna najanne-aangan tedo.” Aruko bhalo nasochnay ra khot lagaunay ta nepali ko chali ayeko sanskriti nai ho .He might have got Indian citizenship..so what..his heart belongs to Nepal..He got mother tongue ..and that’s mother tongue is ofcourse Nepali.No doubts at all.

In this regards, Prashant Tamang has prevailed above truth of Sir Alfred Bernhardt Nobel. Hence, whether he become II3 or not, He is already gained his popularity all over the world, mainly in the heart of Nealese speaking people. So far I guess, nobody has tried such a height to reach and brodcast his wide views to the public. This is all due to mass communication and the development of the media. He is so lucky to be the twinking star amidst us. I hope he will continue this journey as long to long term basis.

Hmm I think Amit voice is better dan Prashant hey dat doesnt mean i dont like Prashant hai dont get me wrong over here…being a nepali I do support him N their is no doubt dat Prashant is a wonderful singer…infacts he is not a trained singer but he sings pretty good N confidently.He is not fightin for himself…he is fightin for all da racial N social discrimination of his community is facing in India for years.

हाम्रा सेलिब्रेटीले के गरे, के गरेनन् त्यो विवादको विषय प्रशान्त तामाङ्ग होइनन्। उदितनारायण झा र मनिषा कोइरालाले नेपाललाई कस्तो सहयोग, असहयोग गरे त्यसको लेखाजोखा गरेर प्रशान्त तामाङ्गलाई सहयोग गर्ने कि नगर्ने भन्ने निर्णय गर्ने पनि बेला होइन यो। प्रशान्त नेपाली मूलको भारतीय नागरिक हो। त्यसैले उ ‘इन्डियन आइडल’को प्रतिस्पर्धामा उत्रिएको छ। प्रशान्त भारतीय नागरिक हो, त्यसैले भारतीय पुलिसमा कार्यरत छ। प्रशान्त तामाङ्ग भारतीय नागरिक भएकै कारण दार्जिलिङमा बस्छ। ढोल ठोकेर भने पनि चुपचाप बसे पनि सबैलाई थाहा छ, उ नेपाली नागरिकता बोकेको मान्छे होइन। अनि आम नेपाली मूलका मानिसलाई यो पनि थाहा छ प्रशान्तले ‘इन्डियन आइडल’को टाइटल जित्नुपर्छ र त्यस जीतका लागि आ-आफ्नो ठाउँबाट सहयोग गर्नुपर्छ, उसमाथि विषवमन गरेर कसैलाई फाइदा छैन।
प्रवासी नेपालीले नेपाल र नेपालीलाई पुर्याएको सहयोग बारे चर्चा गर्दा नेपाली साहित्यको स्थान महत्वपूर्ण हुन आउँछ। प्रवासी नेपालीका रचनाको स्वाद मज्जासँग लिनेले प्रवासी नेपालीलाई नेपाली भन्न सक्नुपर्छ। भारतीय चलचित्रमा ‘डेनी’ हेरेर गर्व गर्नेले प्रशान्त तामाङ्गलाई सहयोग गर्न सक्नुपर्छ। शाहरुख खानकी श्रीमती गौरी नेपाली मूलकी भएको चर्चा गर्नेहरुले पनि प्रशान्तको सफलतामा सहयोग गर्नुपर्ने हुन्छ। देशभित्रका मात्र नेपाली हुन् भन्ने संकीर्णताको घेरामा घेरिएका दरिद्र मानसिकता भएका बाहेक सम्पूर्ण नेपाली मूलका मानिसले प्रशान्तलाई भावनात्मक रुपमा नेपाली नै मान्ने छन्, कानुनी रुपमा उ सीमापारी भए पनि।
यसै सन्दर्भमा भारतीय मूलका अमेरिकनको स्थितिलाई लिन सकिन्छ। अमेरिकाको साना तथा मझौला व्यापार व्यवसायमा वर्चश्व कायम गर्न सफल भारतीय मूलका अमेरिकन भारतलाई औधि माया गर्छन। उनीहरु भारत र भारतीयलाई सहयोग गर्छन् र गरिरहेकै छन्। नागरिकका हैसियतले यिनीहरु अमेरिकन हुन् तर आत्मीयताको हिसाबले भारतलाई आफ्नो ठान्छन्। पाकिस्तानी, बंगाली र अरुहरुको पनि स्थिति त्यही छ। सानो संख्यामा भएका भए पनि नेपालीहरुको पनि ‘हामी नेपाली हाम्रो नेपाल’ भन्ने नै भावना छ। नेपालमा दमन हुँदा वासिङ्गटनमा नेपालीको चित्त दुखेको थियो। त्यसैले नेपालीहरुले अमेरिकाका विभिन्न शहरवाट खबरदारी गरे। भारतका शहरमा नेपाली जर्मुराए र ‘खबरदार’ भने। विश्वभरी छरिएका नेपालीले स्वरमा स्वर मिलाए। सहयोग जुटाए। नेपाली मरेका छैनन्, जहाँ भए पनि जिउँदै छन्। त्यो भारतमा होस् या अमेरिका, जापान अथवा जर्मनी या अरु कुनै देश। समय र परिस्थितिले कोही सीमा बाहिर छन् कोही सीमाभित्र। भित्र भएकाले बाहिर रहेकालाई सहयोग पुर्याउनु पर्छ भने बाहिर रहेकाको सहयोग सीमा भित्रका लागि हुनु पर्छ। यसो भइ पनि रहेको छ। थिम्पुमा बुट बज्रँदा काठमाडौँ रोएको थियो, मेचीले अंगालो मारिदियो। लाखौंको संख्यामा नेपाली मूलका भुटानी अंगालोमा आइपुगे। यही हाम्रो भावना हो, यही हाम्रो निरन्तरता हो। भुटान, वर्मा र आसामलाई साक्षी राखेर हामी भन्न सक्छौँ जहाँ भए पनि हामी नेपाली हौँ, नेपाल हाम्रो हो।
प्रशान्त तामाङ्गको सन्दर्भमा उनलाई हामी केही ठूलो सहयोग गर्न सक्दैनौँ। सीमा छेउबाट नेपाली समूदायले भारत गई ‘एसएमएस’ गरिरहनु भएको छ यसलाई अझ व्यापक गर्नु पर्छ। भारतमा रहेका कोही नेपाली ‘एसएमएस’ गर्न नछुटनुस्। आ-आफ्ना साथीभाइ, छरछिमेकीलाई पनि सहमत गराउनुस। ‘एस एम एस’ गर्न मिल्ने अन्य मुलुक जस्तै युएई, बहराइन, अोमान, साउदी अरेबिया, कुबेत, कतार र बेलायतका नेपाली साथीहरु समयलाई मध्यनजर राख्नुहोस्। एउटा नेपाली ‘ठिटा’ लाई विजेता बनाऔं। हामी नेपाली नेपालीका लागि हुनुपर्छ। सहयोग पुर्याउन प्राज्ञिक गुड्डीको जरुरत छैन, नेपाली मन चाहिन्छ।

Hi,Mr.Claxy..I don’t understand that why you and Prerana are against Prashant Tamang, come on u can’t make people to belive that Prashnat Tamang is not Nepali,it doesn’t matter where he lives in and where he is from,after all Nepali is Nepali. He is made out of nepali Blood. He is a Nepali guy,who is presintly resides in Indian Land,in a small beautiful town calls Darjeeling,where 3/4 of people are nepalese and only 1/4 people are other casts. If you guys are raising your voice to say that why Prashant is serving for Indian Force,then why don’t you guys do something and give all the Nepalese Nepali Resident,and call them to Nepal and do something better! Have you all thought of it,that how the Indian people treats the nepali there,but they still fights for their rights in India coz they have nowhere to go. Nepal doesn’t accept them. The King doesn’t wanted the too much population in Nepal,so he would not be able to take half of the Nepali property in his name,but now,we new generations,who all are well educated and know what is good and what is bad,wouldn’t be doing these unhealty discussions for no reason. Come on “UNITY IS STRENGTH’,so lets all be one and support for Prashant Tamang,inspite of showing sympathy,leta have love and affection for our own Nepali blood. God Bless him.

My parents are from Darjeeling. But i was born in Nepal and i hold a Nepali citizenship. So what should i be called? A Nepali from my citizenship side or an Indian from my parent’s side?
But we are all Nepali, we follow the same culture, costoms, the same language, etc. So plz don’t discriminate just from the location. I agree with what Pratikshya said!!
