Prashant wins, Nepali Communities erupts with joy

At last Prashant Tamang made it. He won the title of Indian Idol. More than 7 crores sms votes were received by both contenstants. After he won the title, he thanked every nepali around the globe.
Soon after Prashant was announced winner by Bollywood hunk/star John Abraham, along with the Darejeeling and Delhi audiences, Kathmandu erupts with joys. Instantly people came to streets singing and dancing, fireworks started to balst. Vehicles hunked and people started to go gaga. Mobile services went down due to traffic. Why it won’t, afterall everyone were trying to share the news. Kathmandu was not ready to sleep so soon (And my friend was complaining she couldn’t sleep because of jubilant celebration).
Darjeeling was all set to celebrate and the party mood didn’t fade out easily. Television footages showed Darjeeling dancing and joying. Prashant has bridged all barriers between the caste, race and ethnicity. His music has at last united all Nepalis around the globe.
Prashant sang “Bir Gorkhali” and soon after he won, he wore Nepali Dhaka Topi. It shows that watever citizenship he got, his heart is true Nepali.
This kind of self jubilant celebration was seen last time after we, the people brought down Royal rule and established Loktantra. After around 17 months, people have another reason to celebrate. Nepal is now in clash of race, creed, caste etc. Prashant’s magic was able to erase this division. Lets hope, like this, we all will be able to remain together and delete the barriers and can make our Nepal prosperous and developed.
Now he’s all set to rock Kathmandu. He is coming to Kathmandu for concert program soon. So Prashat mania is not going to be over soon. You rock Prashant!!
Indian Idol: It’s Final Countdown

So the Final Countdown of Indian Idol is getting real heat. Within next few minutes voting lines will be closed and within next few hours, winner will be declared. The saga will be formally over. One participant will take glory, next will take only moments he spent at Indian Idol.
Who will be the winner? This is the question that is hunting everyone who’s answer is really very fishy. No one really knows but hopes their favourite will be the one who will take glory. People are voting like mad for their favourites and if he wins, preparations are going hard for celebrations. So who will win?
Prashant Tamang has huge support of Darjeeling, Sikkim, Police Force and other Nepali speaking language communities. He has also won millions of hearts through his simplicity and humble behaviour. But Amit Paul is also not behind. His town Shilong and state people are also going crazy about him. His looks is also proving crucial especially for girls. No ones really knows, but people in Darjeeling and Shilong have already planned for the celebrations. Shilong is all set to declare State Holiday if Amit wins. News reports states that thousands of Nepali have thronged to Darjeeling to vote for Prashant. So it’s tough call to guess the winner.
I wish and hope Prashant wins, but lets see what happens!!!

आजकाल मलाई FOSS को भुत चढेको छ । माईक्रोसफ्टको एक्लौटी अधिकार देखेर दिक्क लागेको छ । डर लाग्छ भोली यस्तो एकाधिकारले बिश्वोलाई नै असर पार्ने काम त हुने होइन । माईक्रोसफ्ट मात्र होइन बजारमा एक्लौटि अधिकार राख्न्ने कम्पनिहरु धेरै छन् । यस्ता कम्पनिहरु प्राय गरि स्वामित्तमा बिश्वास राखछन् । कुनै कम्पनिको बजारमा एकाधिकार भए मलाई के त भन्ने प्रश्न पनि आउन सक्छ । यस्को सिधा उत्तर हो, बजारमा एकधिकार भएपछि ग्राहकहरु सबै भन्दा मारमा पर्छन् । अब नेपालमै हेर्नुस् – मेरो मोबाइल र UTL आउनुअघि नेपाल टेलिकमको ताल अनि निजि टेलिभिजनहरु आउनु अघि नेपाल टेलिभिजनको ताल । बजारमा कुनै पनि सँस्था या सामानको एकाधिकार बढेपछि जे गरे नि हुन्छ भन्ने सोच बढ्छ र यस्ले हामिजस्ता ग्राहकलाई नै मार पर्छ । र यस्को राम्रो बिकल्पको रुपमा आएको छ एउटा आन्दोलन जस्लाई FOSS भनिन्छ । FOSS भन्नाले Free and Open Source Software अर्थात नेपालिमा स्वतन्त्र तथा खुल्ला स्रोत सफ्टवेर भन्ने बुझिन्छ ।
हुन त माइक्रोसफ्ट जस्ता स्वामित्तमा विस्वास राख्ने कम्पनीहरुको सफ्टवेर र FOSS Software मा के फरक छ भनेर सोध्नुहोला । फरक भनेको माइक्रोसफ्ट जस्ता संस्थाले आफ्ना उत्पादनहरुको सर्वाधिकार आफैसँग राख्छन् र सफ्टवेर कोड अर्थात सफ्टवेर कसरी बनाइयो भन्ने जानकारीको स्रोत खुल्ला गर्दैनन् । यसले गर्दा अरु मानिसहरुले त्यस्ता उत्पादनको प्रकाशन गर्ने, प्रतिलिपी गर्ने, अदलबदल गर्ने र वितरण गर्न पाउँदैनन्। तर FOSS Software मा चाहि यो छुट हुन्छ।
तर एउटा महत्वपुर्ण प्रश्न तपाईलाई लाग्न सक्छ, यसले के फाइदा भयो त ?
यस्ता छुटले कुनै पनि सफ्टवेयरहरु स्थानिय भाषामा समुदाय या क्षेत्रलाई सजिलो हुने गरी सजिलै पुननिर्माण गर्न सकिन्छ जसले गर्दा सफ्टवेर चलाउनको लागि नै अरु धेरै कुराहरु जस्तै भाषा सिक्नुपर्दैन । त्यसैगरी FOSS को प्रयोगले खर्च घटाउँछ। यस्ता सफ्टवेयरहरु वितरण गर्ने र पुननिर्माण गर्ने छुट भएकोले यसले खर्च कम गर्न सहयोग गर्दछ । FOSS विकासकर्ता र समर्थकहरु व्यवसायिक उद्धेश्यबाट भन्दा पनि सामाजिक, आर्थिक र राजनीतिक कारणबाट प्रेरित हुन्छन् । यसले गर्दा सन्चार र ज्ञानको प्रवाहमा प्रबर्धन हुन्छ । यस्ता उत्पादनहरु सार्वजनिक सम्पतीको रुपमा हेरिन्छ । अझ सबभन्दा महत्वपुर्ण कुरा त हाम्रो जस्तो विकासोमुन्ख राष्ट्रहरुमा माइक्रोसफ्ट जस्ता कम्पनीहरुको सफ्टवेयरहरु गैरकानुनी रुपमा अनधिकृत तरिकाले प्रयोग गरिन्छ । तर FOSS का उत्पादहरु कानुनी रुपमा पनि प्रयोग गर्न सकिने हुन्छन् ।
चलाउन पनि रमाइलो, धेरै सुविधायुत्त, भाइरस पनि नलाग्ने र कानुनी मान्यता पनि भएकोले आजकाल म विस्तारै FOSS तिर सर्दैछु । Microsoft Office को सट्टा Open Office राखेको छु, त्यसैगरी Internet Explorer को सट्टा आजकाल म Firefox को प्रयोग गर्छु । चाँडै नै Windows को सट्टा Linux राख्ने विचारमा पनि छु । तपाई चाहि एकचोटी चलाएर किन हेर्नुहुन्न त ??

अन्तत प्रशान्त इण्डियन आइडलको फाइनलमा पुगेरै छाडे । सबै नेपालीको चासोको विषय बनेका प्रशान्तको समर्थनमा सहयोग जुटाउनेको भिड दार्जीलिङ या सिक्किम या देहेरादुनमा मात्र होइन, नेपालमा पनि उत्तिकै छ । जहाँसुकै गए पनि सबैको मुखमा एउटै प्रक्ष्न छ “के उनी उपाधि जित्न सफल होलान् त ???”
उनको भिडन्त आसामका अमित पौलसँग हुँदैछ जो गायकिमा प्रशान्त भन्दा अब्बल मानिन्छन् । सेप्टेम्बर २३ को साँझ सोनी च्यानलबाट प्रत्यक्ष प्रशारण हुने फाइनलमा यदि प्रशान्तले जिते भने उनले १ करोड भारतिय रुपैयाँ बराबरको Contract र एल्बम निकाल्ने मौकाको साथसाथै एउटा कार पनि पाउने छन् । विना कुनै तालीम लिएका प्रशान्तले आफ्नो गायकीले सबैलाई मोहनी लगाएका छन् । पहिला खाली दार्जीलिङले भोट गरेर उनलाई यो स्थितिमा ल्याएको आरोप लागे पनि अहिले उनले आफ्नो गायकीमा उल्लेख्य सुधार गरेका छन् । उत्कृष्ट २ मा छनौट हुनको लागि उनले गाएका “मडर” फिल्मको “भिगे होठ तेरे” सुनेर सबै दँग परेका थिए ।
प्रशान्तलाई भोट गनेहरुको संख्या अत्यन्तै छ । उनको पक्षमा सारा दार्जीलिङ, सिक्किम जस्ता नेपाली मुलका मानिसहरु लागिपरेका छन् । नेपालमात्र होइन विदेशबाट पनि उनको पक्षमा SMS गर्नको लागि सहयोग रकम प्रसस्त मात्रामा जुट्दैछ । तर उनलार्ई भोट गनेहरु थुप्रै छँदैछन नि भनेर बसेमा उनले त्यो मौका गुमाउन सक्नेछन् । Britain, कतार, Singapur, UAE मा बस्ने नेपालीहरुले उनलाई भोट गन सक्छन् । त्यसैले आउनुस् हामी सबै मिलेर प्रशान्तलार्ई इन्डियन आइडल बनाउन सहयोग गरौँ ।
