Memories of WAR
These are the recent images of Palpa Durbar. Maoist had attacked Palpa on 31 January 2006 and destroyed the historic monument. Though the war is officially over, this devastated historic monument still stands as proof that wounds are nor easily healed. The first picture is of Palpa Durbar (may be taken too long ago, date not mentioned. Image taken from www.tansenpalpa.com) The historic Palpa Palace was major tourist attraction center.
After the Maoists raid Palpa on the night of January 31, 2006, they heavily bombarded the palace which was home of government offices. Now the Palpa Palace looks like this:
These are the destroyed vehicles during attacks which are still left at palace’s ground as it is.
Locals say that during attacks civilians homes were also attacked. Though no civilians died but the wounds remained as psychological/mental trauma. One of the students of Tansen Nursing School told me that after attack many people came to them seeking psychological help. In her experience, mental trauma is more dangerous than physical.

In my opinion, we never destroy the old things, it is our wealth. when in any circumstances we should rebuild. In this present time lot of budget needs to make a previous things as it was. Out country is situated between two gaint countries like India and china. Only most of cases we are only fighting between our people. If we continue in last run it will take advantage from neighbour countries. For example if we donot like the kings’ statues it would be nice to keep as secret as Musuem, which is not aloud to see others. I believe future generation could learn lot of things from that statue or old things. Why we could not follow such kind of environment. I believe we are very talents in knowledge and wisdom.
Our country is facing big crisis, peoples’ movemnet II created big things in Neplai history. but same time Tarai third Andolan destroyed more things than 1950. Janandolan II successed to crackdown the 238 years old monarchical power but Tarai violence government could not successed to resolved the problems. Tarai people were demanding the first negotiation to resign the Home Minister, Situala and tey will sit in negotiation table. In democratic country people should take responsibility. but in our country it is proved that politics is dirty game. To get advantage we don’t think about morality.
As well as in this present time Maoists are in government, political parties were supporting the Maoists are terrorists. When government passed such kind of thing. but government is already out of that things but cabinet or parliament should regret such kind of thigns which was previous government passed Maoist are terrorist.I would like to attention about this things to Supremo, Prachand of Maoist. In this present time Maoists are willing to rebuild the country In this present time legislatures should condemed about such kind of things it will be only good way to clean the face of Maoist. It is very serious things so I request to wipeout out such kind of things from Nepali legislation.
