10th Hits FM Music Awards 2063: AND THE WINNERS ARE…
It was the day for music lovers/ artistes to celebrate their success, glory, achievement and passion. It was the day of 10th Annual Hits FM Music Awards 2063. Singers, musicians, creative artistes, all were there to celebrate the mega event of the Nepali Music Industry.
The rock band Sayaas stole the show walking away with 3 quick awards in Best New Artist, Best Rock Composition and Best Performance by a Group or Duo. Sabin Rai also snatched 2 awards for Best Pop Composition and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance though he had got 4 nominations. Sugam Pokhrel also didn’t let go the chance to kiss glory. He won Record of the Year while Album of the Year went ro Shishir Yogi’s Suskera. Ratna Shamsher Thapa proved to be the best lyricist with Katinjel as Song of the Year.
Reema Gurung was declared the Best Female Vocal Performance from Kasko Maya Lagyo while Jagadish Samal got the Best Male Vocal performance Award for his single Tapoban.
Lyricist Kiran Kharel was awarded with Life Time Achievement Award for his contribution in Nepali Music Industry.

Best Vocal Collaboration – Various Artist for Chyangba
Folk Record of the Year – Sarara Pani Ghattai Ma
Folk Album of the Year – Timi Gayau Arkai ko Dolima
Best Female Pop Vocal Performance – Shubani Moktan for Pharkena Maya
Besides few draw backs, the event was great. Hits FM Music Awards 2063 has certainly brought few reasons to smile for winners and their record companies and overall Nepali Music Industry. Past experiences have shown the increases in sales of albums and songs after such award were announced. So all the best for everyone.

Hey thr… I was one of the viewers too… But thnx to Load shedding, i cudnt watch the whole show… Honestly speaking, every year i keep a lot expectations frm this mega event organized by Hits Fm… n i must say this it has disappointed me everytime… No doubt, the event contributes a lot in Nepal’s music industry n no doubt it is the BEST fm station around… But as far as the “event-organizing” is concerned, it is almost one light-year behind its “FM status”. The MCs, as u said in the article, did go on n on even whn they didnt need to speak… The short “Congratulations to Hits FM” interviews/videos werent edited at all.. One could easily hear the vehicle horns n outside noises (didnt seem proffesional at all). Furthermore, i found it really hard to read the names of the interviwees ……..
Snippets of songs should have been played while being announced for nominations (may be they wanted to cut the program short by just announcing the names of the nominations)……
I dont believe the sound system was gr8 either. Nyways, I cud go on n on with the flaws.. but i guess i shud stop ‘em here… Nyways, hats off to hits fm for continuing the trend for 10 years now … I guess the event will improve in coming years… N best of luck to Hits fm for nxt year’s event.
i totally agree with wasted innovations on all the flaws that was pointed out.
i was also a viewer of the event which was broadcast live on NTV and thru hitsfm.com.np to world wide viewers.
i m pretty much ashamed to say the above wide because goin global means the global community will watch(at least in theory) the event -the mega event. n frankly the show is no match to be broadcast on the internet and to the world. it does not give a image of Nepali FM as a whole. But one is proved that Nepal too can broadcast the mega event live thru the Internet.
I can say that this is the only positive aspect that i see from the so called “mega event of the year”.
